 TEEN ART CLASSES FALL 2019

ALL CLASSES ARE ONGOING:  THAT MEANS THAT YOU CAN REGISTER ANYTIME AND CANCEL ANYTIME!

 Beginning-Intermediate Comics, Illustration and Screenwriting Ages 9-13

Thursdays 4:00-5:30
$30.00 per class + $25.00 upfront material fee.

Class Structure: Students will learn the ins and outs of comics, illustration and storytelling. Each week teens will learn the basics in designing character creations, basic story writing & screenwriting (comics), sequential visual storytelling (the differences between magazines, books, and comics). Techniques will be taught weekly while students work on their main projects.

Attendance and Payment:
Payment is due by the 1st of every month, based on a monthly cycle, (4-5 week) period. (Parents are not charged for classes which fall upon a holiday).

If given 24 hours notice prior to an absence, parents will be given credit which will be deducted from the following cycle.
Or preferably the students can make up the class in one of the other classes.

I will send out a reminder prior to the 1st. If payment is late a $10.00 fee is added and parents will be informed.

Payment options include: Chase Quickpay/Zelle, Check, (made out to Sandra Dawson) or Cash.
If you prefer paying through PayPal, please include an additional $2.00 for the PayPal fee which is deducted.

Drawing, Painting and More Ages 10-17
Saturdays 10:00-11:30

Class Structure:  Teens work independantly on main projects, (drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media), pertaining to their own interests.  Techniques and design elements are taught through group excercies each class and interwoven into main projects.

Students are taught how to work independantly with guidance, suggestions and group critiques. Personal expression and freedom to explore is valued and promoted. Class is ongoing, students can register anytime and for as long as they wish.  Students are instructed by a professional artist and art teacher of 25 years.  All materials are provided.  I encourage all of you to buy sketchbooks and basic drawing tools for your kids so they can draw outside of class as much as possible.

Technique Tuesdays Ages 10-17

Tuesdays 4:00-5:00   $30.00 per class, $25.00 upfront material fee

Class Structure:  Teens explore various drawing and painting styles while learning techniques to build on and improve their skills.  Focus is on improving skills and building strengths.  Students work on one main project at a time pertaining to their interests. Design elements and principles are implemented with excercies each class and interwoven into main projects.

Teens are encouraged to experiment with a variety of mediums such as ink, graphite pastel, acrylic and watercolor, printmaking, transfer and collage.Students will be taught how to work independantly with guidance, suggestions and group critiques. Personal expression and freedom to explore is valued and promoted. PRIVATE CLASSES FOR TEENS

contact me at sandradawson@comcast.net for setting up dates and times at your convenience.

What to expect:

– Personalized lessons geared towards your interests from a professional artist and art teacher of 25 years.

– learn at your own level. All levels of students are welcome.

– Choose your area of interest, medium and style and develop technical skills.

– Work at your own pace with guided instruction.

– Broaden your horizon of drawing and painting, multi media, art history, design and craft with one-on-one instruction

CLASS FEES, DATES AND TIMES:

You may register any time for private lessons which are divided into 4 or 8 week sessions or ongoing classes depending on your interests.
Class fees:

Private Lessons: $60.00 per class.

Semi Private Lessons: (2-5 Students) $35.00 per student per class

Attendance: Regular attendance is expected. Please provide at least a 24 hour notice through email or text prior to class if your teen will be absent. If a parent does not contact me within that time frame, the parent will be charged regardless. If a parent calls within that time frame I will provide a makeup or you can deduct that payment from the next months payment.

Payment: Payment for each month is due by the 2nd session of each month. Please pay by check, cash or chase quickpay.
(for instance Feb. has four sundays so a total of $240.00), Payment is accepted through Chase quickpay, check or cash. Please do not pay by PayPal except for the initial deposit, they take out a portion of each payment and I realized how much it adds up!

BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR TEENS!

Your teens and their friends will have a fun filled time celebrating and making Art!
Here’s the Deal:
We supply all Art Supplies
You supply all decorations and/or food and utensils.
6-10 kids, 1-3 adults
1 1/2 party time, plus doors are open 15 minutes prior to party for set up and 15 minutes post party for cleanup.
Dates and times are flexible
$35.00 per child
Painting themes: you choose, we choose or we choose together
Art projects: you choose: painting, craft or clay

$50.00 deposit fee required to hold date and time. Your deposit will be applied to the balance of your event invoice. Deposit is non-refundable if event is canceled 24 hours prior to party.
